TESOL
TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) is a four-week long school offered by YWAM Hong Kong. Graduates from our TESOL program will receive two different certificates, one – a TESOL certificate – from the University of the Nations (UofN) and one – an accredited Certificate IV in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages – issued by Sea English Academy International – an Australian Educational Institute. The Sea English Academy certificate has been used by many English teachers throughout the world – it is truly a door opener for you in Asia and beyond.
Learner-Centered
The driving principle behind this course is that the leaner must be 100% engaged in the learning process. Every class invites the whole of the participant into each stage of the experience.
A Highly Practical Course
The course includes all the elements of highly effective teaching and learning methods. It is a practical course of 220 total hours consisting of lectures, workshops and practical hands-on teaching. This includes observation of ESL teachers and practice teaching with ESL students at various levels of English.

● The principles of language learning and teaching
● Learning styles
● Assessment and Evaluation
● Planning and conducting English language classes
● Teaching grammar effectively
● Developing effective and up-to-date teaching materials with minimal resources

● Designing a curriculum and syllabus
● Multi-cultural and cross-cultural aspects of the ESL classroom
