About YWAM HK

God has been using YWAM Hong Kong over the past 40 years.

1979 - 1985

Small Beginnings

In 1979, an outreach team from YWAM Honolulu traveled to Hong Kong to work with the Vietnamese refugee camps. Refugee work became the foundation work of the newly establish YWAM work here.
1980 - 1990

Training & Services

YWAM Hong Kong, which quickly grew into a thriving training and ministry base as the government recognized YWAM's work and gave them a building in the Mid-Levels. Mother's Choice orphanage, Small World Christian Kindergarten, and various ministries as well as training programs were birthed out of the base.
1992 - 2008

Move to Kam Tin

When the camps closed in 1990 and the government took back the building, YWAM Hong Kong relocated to Kam Tin, the oldest village in Hong Kong. FEET teams, SOFM and DTS were the primary ministries for several years.
2011 onwards

Multiplication

In 2011, we pioneered a new location known as YWAM Tuen Mun focusing on the arts and mercy ministry. Currently, YWAM Hong Kong has four operating locations, as well as several other ministries around the city, sharing God's love and message through many different means to reach every person in Hong Kong and beyond.
