Testimonies

We were talking to a group of about 4 girls who had responded in a group response. I turned to a mother who was sitting there and asked her if she understood the dramas. She didn’t understand English very well so I brought our translator over and she spoke back and forth with her for awhile. She said she was ready to accept Jesus so I prayed with her. Her name is Annie. One of the little girls sitting by her also joined hands with us and we prayed with the translator. I then talked with the little girl about hearing God speak to her and that she could go share and practice it.

Tony and I talked to a little girl named Wendy after Brandon had finished preaching. She said that she prayed to accept Jesus along with Brandon during his prayer and that she wanted Tony and I to pray for her. After each of us prayed, she has a huge smile on her face!

After the presentation, I went out to talk with the students and met a 17 year old boy named Alan. He was a Christian and had come to know Jesus through one of the workers at the school. I was able to share Christ with his friends. He explained to me how he had been frustrated by the lack of response in his friends. I encouraged him that it’s not out job to “save” anyone. All we can do is share the gospel with people and pray that God opens their hearts, but ultimately it’s between them and God. This really connected with him.

Today, I was able to share with 2 girls the same age as my daughter, Anna. They understood the drama but didn’t know for sure if all the Bible and the story of Jesus was true. I shared with the help of Ming, our translator. It was so great! They allowed me to pray with them and introduce them to Anna. I told them to listen for God to speak to them because He is a God that wants us to know Him. They said they would!

The power of prayer is amazing! Now that I think back, I’m not sure if I believed in prayer before tonight. Tonight, I witnessed the power of prayer in transforming a timid heart to one of power. When we first got to Nathan Road, I was anxious. My heart was racing. Through my prayer walk, God reminded me of why we were there. He took my focus away from the staring eyes back to focusing on Him. He told me that I had no reason to fear because He was right there doing the work with me. In His divine appointment, I had a chance to talk to a girl who had been through a similar experience as me. The difference was that she was not able to find God through her experiences. The testimony I had prepared fit perfectly to her situation. I was able to empathize completely with her situation. I praise God because He once again proved to me that He listens to our prayers and that He understands our fears and responds to them. The Bible says that in God, all things are possible. This is true! And that nothing is impossible, but this is only when it is with God!

My ministry partner and I were looking for someone to talk to. We were praying to God asking Him to show us someone. My partner saw a woman holding a baby. We went to her and asked if she saw the program. She said yes. We then asked if she would like to hear more about Jesus. My partner told her that her baby was beautiful but the woman said “too skinny”. My partner asked if she could pray to God for the baby’s health. So we did and that opened the door for us to pray for the woman as well.
